Farmyard Animals!

These are really amazing!! Unfortunately they are fan made and not LEGO's own creation, but that didn't stop me putting in a order for some! They are being made by the really clever people over at Brickforge.com

The pig and sheep are the same size as the new LEGO dogs (from the Police and Harry Potetr sets) and the cows are the same size as the standard horses. You can see more pictures and reviews, along with comparison to other LEGO animals at Brickzone's great site (home of the excellent Fabuland Housewife's!)

I think that minifig scale farms and zoo's are something that LEGO really should be making. There is a huge scope for sets with a very wide range of appeal. Just image minifig scale tractors, combine harvesters etc etc . LEGO are you reading this ... oh, you're not!

Large and Small bricks!

I have always liked LEGO things that are slightly different to normal, and am particularly interested in large and tiny scale bricks!
You can see my passion for Large scale versions of normal sized LEGO in a blog run by myself and Cafe Corner Blog creator Brickstreet at http://www.bigbricks.blogspot.com/ A shortcut (and easier to remember!) is also at http://www.bigbricks.co.uk/

As well as extra Large LEGO, I also like the tiny stuff too! I love Modulex, which is a smaller version of LEGO created by the company in the 60's to be used as an aid for architects to make reusable scale models. The bricks themselves actually had 'LEGO' printed on them, but this was changed when to 'M' when a separate company was formed. The company still exists today, but mainly now makes industial signs, altough the tiny Modulex bricks are still made for project planning wall plans.
I have started to create my own site with information about Modulex, although it is very much a work in progress at the moment. I hope to find time to add information to it very soon.

If you have any questions about either, please let me know!

My 5 Minutes of Fame!

I was interviewed a while ago for 'Moneywise Magazine' in the UK about my colection and the potential for investment in Lego. Here is the resulting full-page article in the August 2007 edition!

You can see it in larger size here (shame about the photo!). I am pretty happy with it apart from a couple of slight mis-quotes. I did not actually propose with a LEGO Rose, my wife would have killed me (and she said she would have also said 'No'!)

Apologies ...

Sorry, havn't blogged for while. This isn't due to lack of LEGO related activities, more the opposite!

I have been very busy builing and attending events etc. I have loads of stuff to post about, so will try and catch up in the next couple of days.

Motorised AT-AT

Sam89 from over at Eurobricks managed to find some pictures of this new set whilst looking through LEGO's cache on the internet.

It looks very nice and it is amzing how they have managed to hide the motors and walking mechanism so well so it doesn't look much different from the original system model.

There is only one snowtrooper, but this isn't really a problem as you will be able to get as many as you want when the new Hoth battle pack comes out later in the year! (It is like the current Clone Trooper and Battle Droid sets).

I can see the price for this being high, especially when you add in the motors. The original AT-AT was £100 (about $200) in the UK, so I expect this set to be at least £120.

It is apparently scheduled for a October/November 2007 release.

LEGO Furniture!

There is some excellent looking LEGO furniture over at http://www.shop.lego.com/ in the US. It doesn't seem to be available in Europe yet, but here's hoping! It looks very well built, but is quite pricey...
EDIT: As I was typing this they appeared in the UK and Europe!

New Indy Picture

This picture has been released by LEGO of the new Indiana Jones sets due out next year.

He looks great and this looks like it will be another 'must buy' LEGO theme. I have to say that he company is going from strength to strength at the moment.

Brick Journal Magazine

If you don't know about this already, Brick Journal is an online magazine that is produced by the fan community about all things Lego related.

It is a fantastic read and a lot of credit is due to the hard work of the people who keep it going and write articles. Every issue I feel like printing it in colour to keep forever, but have never got round to it!

You can download the latest issue (Issue 8) here;
http://news.lugnet.com/publish/brickjournal/?n=170

It contains some excellent information on the new Market Street set including some very well designed furniture to fit in it!

Confirmation of New Sets

It has been confirmed that that Dwarfs Mine set I reported on yesterday is an official set. It was found in a retail catalog in Australia and the November date makes it look like it is going to be a store exclusive over there. There has been a mixed reaction from the Lego forums with some people agreeing with me and saying it looks excellent, but others saying it looks more like a Mega-Bloks (aarrgh!) clone. As soon as I see more detailed pictures I will post them here.

I am loving the new Castle line (after not being very interested at all in the Knight's Kingdom sets) and hope now that we see some elves! It is turning into more of a fantasy theme, but that is fine by me. Please let me know what you think!

There is also a new Exo-force set shown in that catalog with the very unimaginative name of 'Bad Guy Vehicle'!

Mini Millenium Falcon

This is the first of my highlighted MOC (My Own Creations) from other builders. This one is by Ototoko. I saw this is another blog and thought it was so good I had to post it here too.

It is amazing just how much detail it has for the size and I love the cockpit area.

You can see more pictures in the brickshelf gallery here;

Just Amazing!

New Castle Set?

Just spotted this on the forums at Bricklink.

If this really is a new set that it is coming out then it has to be one of the best ideas and is right up there with all the other excellent recent sets. I just love the Dwarf, Troll and mine carts!

It will be interesting to see what other sets are planned if any more information comes out in the next couple of days

Castle Chess Set Details

I opened up and had a good look at my new Castle Chess set this evening. I think this is by far the best Lego Chess set yet, I hope you agree!

The figures are all excellent, especially the Kings and Queens. I can see a lot of these being sold to 'army builders'

I have taken pictures of all the pices and the box front, back and insides and these can be seen (once moderated) on Brickshelf here:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=262060

In the meantime here are a few tasters!

Shop @ Home delivery

My latest order turned up on Saturday which included the new maket street set and the Castle Chess set. Seeing as I only ordered on Wednesday that was quick work, well done TLC!

I will have a look at it this evening and post some pictures and first impressions.

Unfortunately, the Queen piece isn't the princess from the Spellbreaker movie as I had hoped. It is still very nice though.

More later ...

Cafe Corner Blog

If you are at all interested in Lego Town, buildings or the new Cafe Corner Set; then you really should be checking out this excellent Blog by Brick Street.

http://bricktowntalk.blogspot.com/

I have been reading it every day recently and it is an excellent source for town building inspiration. It prompted me to start this Blog as I had never thought about it before, so thanks!

New Castle Chess Set

I have just spotted (and ordered!) a new Chess set based on the new Castle theme and the Spellbreaker 4D movie shown in the Legoland parks. It costs £29.99 in the UK and you can order it here.

If anyone has any more detailed pictures please let me know as I want to know if the Queen of the 'Goodies' is the princess from the movie.

Welcome to my Lego Blog!

Hi!

I am a huge adult fan of Lego (AFOL) living in the UK. I will be using this blog to highlight interesting Lego stuff I come across on the net, things I am currently building, events that I may be participating in also my Lego shopping purchases and finds!

I hope you enjoy it, please let me know if you want to see something included, or just want to say 'Hi'. I will try and post as often as I can, whenever anything interesting comes up.

This is my first blog of any kind and am pretty new to HTML and stuff, so please bear with me if it doesn't look too professional!

Thanks for reading!
